Physiotherapy Assistants are taught how the body functions. Knowledge is acquired on disease, injury and the healing process, detection of deficiencies in posture, balance, movement and function.
The Physiotherapy Assistant administers physical therapy treatments to patients under the direction of and as assistants to a Physiotherapist. Work settings include hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centres, long-term care facilities, sports medicine clinics, community health care agencies and other medical settings. |
